Sound practices can lead to deep peace and healing. Learn to use your voice and music as tools for personal transformation, creativity, and connection to spirit. Practices of humming, toning,chanting, mantras and simple improvisations will be taught. These tools can be used in creating a daily sound practice which can continue after the workshop. We will explore new ways of experiencing music and sound more effectively in daily life. In addition to the sound the group makes together, the presenters will perform with medieval harp, flute and songs created specifically for the group.
No prior musical talent or experience needed. All are welcome.

Phyllis Strock is a practitioner of sound healing. Using Tibetan bowls and crystal bowls, Chant and sound, she leads people to inner peace and discovery. Her perspective is informed by her experience in counseling, spirituality and writing. She has worked with diverse populations, both individually and in groups, 
including cancer survivors, impoverished children,teens and Individuals at the end of life.

Ruth Cunningham is a classically trained musician, a sound healing practitioner, and a founding member Anonymous 4. She combines these skills to improvise music that connects people to the healing and spiritual power of music. She specializes in improvisational sacred music from varied spiritual traditions in both liturgical and concert settings. With Anonymous 4, she has performed in concerts and festivals throughout the United States, Europe and the Far East and made thirteen recordings.
Ruth's two solo CD releases are Light and Shadow: Chants, Prayers and Improvisations and Harp modes: Journey for Voice and Harp. She has released two CDs of multi faith chants with colleague Ana Hernandez: Blessed by Light and Harc: Inside Chants. www.ruthcunningham.com
